The Important Events of 1929

In 1929 the stock market crash of 1929 also known as ‘Black Thursday’. There was panic on Wall Street while the stock market took a sharp decline. This one crash led to the biggest economic crisis witch later got named the Great Depression.

Important People Involved

Out of all the important people involved two were remembered better than most Herbert Hoover who was the president who became widely known for Hoovervilles, and Franklin D. Roosevelt who became known for his attempts to stop the Great Depression, some other important people were Charles Curtis who is not known well but was the senior secretary of Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Andrew W. Mellon who was the treasury secretary and led the way with optimistic predictions that business was fundamentally sound.

The Effects

The effects of the crash were catastrophic! The stock market crash of 1929 led to the Great Depression. This crash forced farmers to leave their crops to rot because they could not pay to harvest their crops while people elsewhere starved.

Changes that Took Place Because of This

People started bread and soup lines so that people wouldn’t die of starvation. Still many people died of cold or were unemployed. Many people had to build hoovervilles (villages made of scraps) to survive. While rich people were virtually unaffected. Many major changes happened in this time frame- Roosevelt ordered all of the remaining banks in America to close for a holiday now called “Bank Holliday” he also started “fireside chats” witch went a long way in restoring public confidence. During Roosevelt’s first 100 days in the office as president he and his office employees invented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation also known as the F.D.I.C. And Roosevelt made a new deal.

Different Sides of the Crash

There were many few goods and very many bads. The pros were that Franklin D. Roosevelt became president because he made very large attempts to stop the Great Depression. Freeways were invented. the cons were that this all led to the Great Depression and many people died I personally feel bad for anyone that lived around this time era.

How we View this Topic Now

Now we all view the stock market crash of 1929 as an overreaction. We believe all of this drama as unnecessary and the great depression never would have happened if we had just stayed calm when this crash had happened.

What I Would Have Thought if I was Alive Back Then

I would have thought that “this is insane why everyone is overreacting I do not know. But I do know one thing I am move as far away from here as possible.”

my favorite snack is a crispy salty pretzal. when it first hits your mouth it is so good- it is like an explosion of happiness in your mouth.

the respitory system is how oxygen gets to your blood. first air goes through your mouth/nose and goes to your trachea. next  your trachea splits into millions of small tubes called bronchi tubes. then the bronchial tubes lead to the alveoli and allows oxygen to go through a thin wall and traps the carbon dioxide inside. and then  goes back through the bronchi tubes and the trachea. .and finally back out the mouth/nose

this is all about how I go about caching a fish I put the bait on the hook the bait was as wiggly as a piece of string and I will now spill the beans on the fish and whoa this fish was a beast !I throw the hook into the water (in a way so that I don’t get snagged )and I sit with a firm grip of the rod and then after forever (you may not get one so don’t get your hopes up) I finally get one. well that’s how I go about getting a fish
